Zach Matthew Zarraga conquered his first solo flight on February 2, 2024. The 23-year-old student pilot enjoys DJing, videography, and going for a run/walk during his leisure hours. As a child who is fascinated with airplanes, he dreamed of being a pilot someday, leading him to pursue a degree in Bachelor of Science in Air Transportation in college.
Zach discovered OMNI Aviation through his former professors in college, who were alumni of OMNI. A relative, who is a pilot, recommended OMNI based on the positive feedback from her colleagues. All this prompted Zach to attend OMNI's symposium at the Quest Hotel last June 2023. Impressed by the recommendations and the symposium, he decided to enroll at OMNI Aviation to start his pilot training.
Admittedly, Zach was initially overwhelmed by the studies in the ground school. But his determination paid off when he finally took to the skies for his first flight. Recounting the experience, he expressed a mix of excitement, fear, and fulfillment. Zach praised OMNI Aviation for surpassing his expectations, describing the training as "worth it."
On his first solo flight, Zach revealed that he was more concerned about his flight being canceled due to the unpredictable weather than his nervousness. Thankfully, the skies cleared up, allowing him to successfully reach this significant milestone. This endeavor is all sorts of challenging, but Zach is grateful for the guidance and trust his instructor has given him.
Dreaming of a future as an airline pilot, he knows that he still has a long way to go but takes pride in how far he has come, or as he said, "Malayo pa, pero malayo na."
In a message to aspiring pilots, Zach encourages them, "If you want something, go for it!"
